ABOUT
I was born in Wigan, home of Wigan Pier, Rugby League, Northern Soul and Bolero's Roller Disco (still going strong!). My parents are from Liverpool and had a hardware store. This meant I had a good Saturday job as kid and consequently I had instilled in me, as did my three brothers, the ability to build stuff.

I bought my first camera to woo a girl. I’d offered to take the first pictures for her model portfolio, a risk because I’d never picked up a camera before. It became a defining moment and I fell in love with photography and the girl stayed around for seven years. I taught myself and after a year found myself assisting a fashion photographer on a shoot in Spain as full-time assistant with a Manchester studio. I became freelance in London after 18 months working with fashion and advertising photographers like Craig McDean, Sheila Rock, Richard Bradbury, Alan Brooking to name a few.

After a few years of assisting in London I felt a strong urge to see the world. I left England to travel in Asia then Australia which is where I started shooting in my own right, living in Sydney while still doing bits of Assisting for fashion photographer Ross Honeysett. On the return leg back to England I met a couple of Dutch designers in Hong Kong. Intrigued by the culture there and the opportunities we decided to set up studio. We collected a wonderful array of clients in the seven years I was there, including: MC Saatchi , Ogilvy + Mather, Dentsu Young + Rubicam, Elle Magazine, Elle Decoration, W magazine, AT&T, South China Morning Post Sunday Magazine... to name a few.. I stayed for seven years shooting fashion, portrait editorial and advertising.

I moved back to the U.K. to get back to my roots and now live with my partner Maryam in Manchester. I continue to travel East for projects, more inspiration and warm weather mountain biking.
